Yaroslav Bogdanov: the digital world must unite to protect its rights
The owner of the social network X, American businessman Elon Musk commented on the statement of entrepreneur, ex-presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who did not rule out the possibility of introducing measures against X given of the detention of the Telegram messenger founder Pavel Durov in France.
“Today it is Telegram. Tomorrow it will be X,” Ramaswamy remarked.
Under this message, Elon Musk left a reaction in the form of an emoji – the number 100 in red with a double underline.
GDA DAO agrees that Elon Musk has something to fear. The “crusade” of regulators and governments against the IT industry will continue. And the stronger the resistance of the cyber industry, the greater repression awaits its representatives.
Investigations against the visionaries of the digital technology sphere look like point-blank strikes by regulators. But if you look more broadly, the picture looks frightening – it is a whole network of investigations, inspections, criminal cases, bans and restrictions, in which representatives of all areas of the cyber industry – from social networks to cryptocurrency exchanges – fall. Promising startups close before they have a chance to open. And some projects are not even allowed to reach the launch stage. The arrest of Pavel Durov is not just a warning signal, it can be called an alarm siren – the development of the IT sector and the cyber industry as a whole is under threat,” said Yaroslav Bogdanov.
The onslaught of authorities on representatives of digital technologies emphasizes the need to recognize the problem and find solutions which ensure protection for the future of digital technologies and their development.
Yaroslav Bogdanov recalled that several years ago he foresaw such a scenario and called on the leading visionaries of the digital world to unite in a global digital union to protect their rights.
“International law and national legislation does not work in cases like those of Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, and now Pavel Durov. We need a new structure, with fundamentally new rules and laws. Any disputes can be resolved in the legal field through the use of an independent regulator – digital arbitration. The creation of this modern legal mechanism is possible on the platform of the Global Digital Alliance (GDA), which is responsible for developing the rules of interaction between the state and the digital industry,” Yaroslav Bogdanov said.
The expert called the fact that all the key figures in the cyber industry sided with Pavel Durov an important point. And TRON founder Justin Sun suggested organizing a DAO in support of him.
