Yaroslav Bogdanov: SPIEF-2024 lays the foundation for cooperation with the countries of the Global South
The XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) kicked off in St. Petersburg on June 5th.
The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who is also in St. Petersburg and is already taking part in SPIEF-2024, sent greetings to the participants of the business forum.
Vladimir Putin emphasized that the theme of today's forum - “The foundation of a multipolar world - the formation of new points of growth” - speaks of Russia's openness to establishing cooperation with partner states, building joint work to solve economic, social and scientific-technological challenges of our time.
A special place in the SPIEF-2024 business program is reserved for the “Technologies Ensuring Leadership” area. Over the three days of SPIEF, numerous discussion panels dedicated to innovative technologies will be held.
“Implementation of advanced IT developments plays a key role in the development of business, society and the economy as a whole,” said Yaroslav Bogdanov, founder of GDA Group, while taking part in the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
"Technological sovereignty, noted by Vladimir Putin during his message to the Federal Assembly, is a key aspect of the modern digital economy and IT security. One of the steps on the way to technological sovereignty is the development of our own digital technologies, ensuring reliable cyber defense, control over the security of personal data of the country's citizens,” said Yaroslav Bogdanov during SPIEF-2024.
Foreign delegations at SPIEF-2024 represent 136 countries and territories. First of all, these are the BRICS countries, states supporting the BRICS+ concept, as well as delegations from Africa and the Global South. Strengthening Russia's cooperation in these areas contributes to the formation of a fairer and more equitable world order, the expert noted in a conversation with a correspondent of the External Economic Relations magazine.
Developing countries have their unique resources, culture and experience. Establishing integration processes with the Global South opens up new opportunities for economic growth and innovation.
"Interaction with developing countries facilitates the exchange of knowledge, technology and experience, which can benefit all parties of the cooperation. Integration in the areas of IT technologies, scientific achievements, industry and manufacturing will contribute to gaining technological sovereignty not only by Russia, but also by all countries interested in fruitful multilateral cooperation. Such events as the St. Petersburg Economic Forum form the basis for future fruitful joint activities,” said Yaroslav Bogdanov.
At SPIEF-2024 the founder of GDA Group will present the concept of the “Digital UN” developed by the experts of the organization. The project is aimed at creating and applying digital solutions that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and preventing global challenges.
